After six years of constant use, my Macbook Pro’s display now goes blank if the display lid is opened over 40 degrees. Apparently this is some issue Apple is ready to fix for free, but Apple providers I’ve asked say it isn’t in force anymore.
Well, at least I can use it with an external monitor and see how long I can tolerate using it as a desktop version. Maybe this will reduce my aimless surfing time on my sofa?
In other exciting developments, I got the Linux guidebook I ordered from the mail. I’ve read maybe two chapters of it and tried out some basic shell commands, some already familiar, some not. Seems like a good book, I’m hopeful I’ll get a way better understanding how Linux works in time. Not sure what I’m aiming to do with that knowledge though.
In my previous post I thought I’ll start using the social network Mastodon (or even Bluesky) more actively, but I realize now I haven’t posted anything yet. If I have something potential to write, I seem to reserve it for a blog post (by then I’ve most likely forgot what it was). So despite trying out new platforms, I still struggle to find reason why I should use them in the first place.
What else. I haven’t been sleeping that well lately, but after enjoying a beer one evening before going to bed, my sleep score the following morning was a perfect 100. Beer, the remedy for many a things.
