It has felt like summer for weeks already, yet it is late May. I wonder what the actual summer is going to be like then. Beds are burning.
I’ve now watched over one hundred movies this year. That makes it about five movies a week so far, but the pace will surely drop during summer. I’ll still aim to watch at least one movie a week, just to keep some streak going on. I’m also pleased that I’ve used less hours on video gaming so far at the same time.
Speaking of gaming, lately I’ve only played and finished Dredge, a fishing game that had some Eldritch mythology flavours, but really it was just a bland fishing game. Yet I had to finish it like I do with almost all games I start.
I wanted to add a screenshot of the game to this post, but since I didn’t take any of it (it wasn’t a photogenic game), I decided to create an imaginary dadaist poster of it with ChatGPT Image 2.0 instead (freely available on duck.ai).
I haven’t used it before and I was surprised how the image generation technology had advanced so much during the past years since I played with Midjourney. Like, now it is able to add proper text into the image too!

I didn’t take a single screenshot of the game Dredge, so here is a AI generated “dadaist” poster of it instead.
Moving to real-life art, one day I had the opportunity to dabble with paint and canvas in a “paint and drink” event with my co-workers. I haven’t painted for a very long time, which was with water colours. The host encouraged us to paint something Helsinki inspired, but I ended up doing my own, abstract thing.
While the result wasn’t a masterpiece, I’m pleased with it myself. Painting was really relaxing and inspiring. I really should get back to the habit of visual creation I’ve lost and forgotten about at some point.
