A dip in the Flow

Depeche Mode had to cancel their gig in Helsinki due to a pending storm that eventually never came, which I didn’t mind as I didn’t have a ticket to the show and now I don’t have to carry any regrets of missing it. Tough thing for those who already had a ticket, though.

Instead I went to see Suede at the Flow Festival. They pulled a solid set and Brett Anderson did a full shift to please and engage with the crowd. Only downsides were that the set lasted just under an hour and they did only two tracks from their latest album I’ve listened to death. Still, glad I went.

Suede’s front man Brett loving his job as a rock star.

Another act worth mentioning was Business City hailing from Lahti, Finland. Their hard edged but humorous techno grind was fun to witness and as an indicator how good it was, I watched the whole set from start to finish.

Otherwise Flow was what it was, lively, vibrant and packed. I think it was my fifth Flow (the first one being in 2008). Maybe a sixth next year if there is a gig I really would like to see (this year it was just Suede).

Also made a quick weekend visit to Joensuu at attend a birthday party. Weather was perfect.
