Life is all around

Long time residents of Helsinki enjoying another summer.

Summer is here, the best season of all. Just walking in the parks and forests full of life is relaxing. Hell, just being outside is good enough even if the temperature has been a bit on the cool side.

When indoors, I’ve been playing Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin on the PS5. I wasn’t planning to play it, but it was on sale and I thought it would be interesting what sort of twist does it give to the Final Fantasy franchise, as it wasn’t a role-playing game, but a honest hack-and-slash combat game.

PlayStation 5’s screenshot and sharing features are something the PS3 didn’t have. Time will tell will I use this in a regular basis.

If I hadn’t made a commitment beforehand I will play it through no matter what, I’d probably stopped playing it after a hour or so, as it was quite hard to learn the mechanics. But after some grinding (I had to retry the first boss fight dozens of times), I got a hang of it. Something I should do in real life challenges as well.

It isn’t a mind blowing game however and as it is placed in the universe of the very first Final Fantasy, which I’m unfamiliar with, so I might be missing some parallel storyline in the adventure. However, since the game hasn’t sucked me into hour long marathons, I think it was a good choice for summer.

I’ve also continued using Midjourney to create AI-art (gotta use those rendering hours since I payed for them). Lately I’ve noticed a lot of renderings have scrambled watermarks or copyright texts, which does make me wonder what is Midjourney using as source material to train its AI.

Anyway, I’ll throw below a few images I’ve come up with. Nothing fancy and I’m pretty sure someone else has already rendered something similar like these too, making the whole idea of coming up with something unique questionable.
