Low thrills summer

Encountered this poor looking tree while bicycling around Lake Tuusula.

Still spending my time in Helsinki. At least I’ve kept on running and bicycling on a regular basis. Once again I took advantage of the local trains one day and bicycled around Lake Tuusula, which as a route was easier and faster than I expected. I didn’t stop to see any of the attractions as I already saw them last year.

I also visited some exhibitions around Helsinki. Tommi Toija’s exhibition at Taidehalli was the most interesting one for me.

One of Tommi Toija’s creations of Taidehalli.

Additionally, I went to see a bunch of live music performances at the Odysseus Festival. It was a nice one, with some pretty unusual artists performing. Especially Enji and Hatis Noit impressed with their vocal ranges. The use of the human voice continues to amaze me.

A trio named Ghost wrapped up the Odysseus Festival. Well, at least for me.

I haven’t been to the movie theatres, but I did pick at random a movie from the local library, which was Babylon. I barely knew the movie even existed (Wikipedia tells me it was a financial flop) and I have to say it was so exhausting to watch due to its high tempo and absurd scenes that it made me wonder was done to suit the attention span of impatient social media users so that they don’t get bored. It wasn’t a bad movie despite all this, but I think many would agree one hour could have easily been cut away from the mess of the three running hours.

And okay, in addition to all the above mentioned activities, I’ve also been just sitting indoors playing way too much Tactics Ogre: Reborn. I’ve decided to take a longer break now, that game feels like it will never end.

Tactics Ogre has been quite addictive. I’m going to pause it for a moment (again).
