Probably the worst months being in Helsinki ongoing: dust from street gravel in the air that irritates my eyes. Well, at least next week nights are again shorter than the days.
This weekend I attended a darkroom beginner’s course, making prints from film negatives. I actually went through the same course five years ago, but it has also been five years since I’ve worked in a darkroom, so a rehearsal was in order.
The course was well worth the time, even if I only managed to get two photos into some sort of finalized state (there was also a third negative I worked on, but there wasn’t enough time to come up with a final version).
It remains to be seen will I also attend the follow-up course in three weeks time. I’m interested in it, but I’m a bit unsure will I actually continue working in a darkroom after these courses are over. Shooting in film isn’t exactly as cheap and convenient as shooting in digital.
Otherwise it has been a somewhat uneventful week. I’ve continued playing Nier: Automata, which keeps giving out small nuggets of extra treats as I progress. Really hoping it doesn’t end with an anti-climax.
