Stagnate service

Wandering around an art exhibition at Ateneum.

Nothing much lately, aside from public transport strikes. I did go see some art exhibition at Ateneum, but realized I wasn’t really in the mood for it, so basically just glanced through it. But at least I went.

I’ve used my MacBook Pro as a desktop computer for over a month now after its internal screen went blank and used my external monitor instead. Clearly less pointless surfing around the internet these days as I can’t pick up my laptop while on the sofa. I guess this is indeed a blessing in disguise.

Instead, I have been spending more time tweaking old photographs to be uploaded to Flickr with Adobe Lightroom. Always interesting to find ways to transform bang average photos into something more interesting with some post-production magic.

That said, Flickr itself still remains amazingly stagnate of new ideas after all these years. Many groups, which are supposed to be forums to talk about the group’s chosen theme and add theme related photos have mostly been dead of conversations for years and the photo pools are full of unrelated photos due to lack of moderators who haven’t been using Flickr for ages. There is a certain MySpace vibe about the service, which isn’t a good thing.

One of the photos I uploaded to Flickr.

In other things worth a mention, the movie of the week for me was The Father. I knew it got high praise and finally decided to watch it expecting some decent drama of an old father suffering from dementia, but I was surprised how it took the perspective how the father experienced the reality around him. Anthony Hopkins did some brilliant acting too. Now I understand the praise better.
