The start of the week was very warm, but towards the end chillier (expected as Vappu is just around the corner). I decided to take the whole week off from work, as I felt I needed a breather.
Since it was a bit of a last minute decision, I didn’t go traveling. The furthest I got was a national park near Helsinki called Sipoonkorpi. It was a nice walk with only a handful of people and a harmless snake seen along the way. The serene silence was a bit hindered by a faint motorway noise in the distance, but I didn’t let it bother me. Maybe it is a different story once the foliage is fully grown and the wind blowing from another direction.
New beginnings
I also managed to go for a run for a total of three times within a week, which is something I can’t remember when was the last time. This was thanks to a 12 week half marathon plan in my running app I decided to undertake. I’m trying to take it easy though, adding a few extra resting days between runs, but maybe by the end of this year I have actually run a half marathon. Hard to believe at this point it would really happen, though. Would be something.
Finally, the temptation of replacing my PlayStation 3 I bought ten years ago with a PlayStation 5 had grown unbearable, especially now that I have completed all the games I wanted to play through on the PS3 first. Normally I would have bought the PlayStation 4 at this point and concentrated on its games for the coming years, but since the PS5 also runs PS4 games (and doing a better job on that too), I reasoned it would be better to skip a console generation this time around.
Ultimately I made the decision just to free my mind from constantly hesitating on the matter and move on to other first world problems.
