The Highlands and the free falls

A piece of Scotland scenery. Too lazy to dig up the name of the place, some important battle happened here at least.

Time marches forward and doesn’t care if you are tagging along or not.

I haven’t been using my time in a most optimal fashion, but I did make some achievements. I visited Scotland after some 30 years, which was nice. Great landscapes there (no trees blocking the view helped).

I also made some day trips from Helsinki to Tammisaari, Nuuksio and Kaunissaari. Nice places too.

In my previous post I wrote about just taking it easy without any pressure of doing anything. Well, I certainly been following that guideline. Maybe even too much lately. For instance, I noticed I’ve gone jogging this year less than I did last June alone! Need to fix that.

Generally speaking my life has been in a free fall. I have no clear agenda what I should be doing or aiming for. Quite a stark contrast to my declaration earlier this year to improve myself. Well, if you first don’t succeed, then try again, I guess.

In a few days I’ll go and see Iggy Pop perform at the Flow Festival (among others). I’m not expecting a wild show from him, but his latest album Post-Pop Depression has some great tracks and I’m eager to hear them live by one of the grand figures of ’70s rock. Unexpected how this guy outlived his close friend David Bowie (and Lou Reed for that matter). Must be the morning stretches in the video.
